Hampton Wick Infant and Nursery School playground renovation
Hartley Services Group was honoured to be entrusted with the comprehensive renovation of the playground area at Hampton Wick Infant and Nursery School, with the aim of creating a safe, stimulating, and enriching outdoor environment for young children.
The project involved a full resurfacing of the existing playground, beginning with the removal of the old surface and the installation of new asphalt paving to ensure durability and safety. To diversify the play experience and encourage imaginative outdoor activities, we also added astroturf and new grassed areas. The outdated play equipment was removed and replaced with a modern, age-appropriate jungle gym, along with a newly constructed sand pit filled with fresh sand to offer tactile play opportunities. In addition to the core play areas, we developed outdoor living spaces by constructing a deck for activities and events, and installing a gazebo to provide shaded seating and shelter from the elements.
Executing the project during the school holidays was critical to minimizing disruption. Our team created a detailed project schedule in collaboration with school staff to ensure all work was completed efficiently and safely. Weather conditions posed a challenge, but with flexible scheduling and contingency planning, we were able to stay on track without compromising quality. The result is a vibrant, multifunctional playground that not only meets the highest safety standards but also promotes outdoor learning and physical activity.
